Announcement: USARA to Launch Peer Recovery Management Program in 2015

USARA is the recipient of the TANF Grant through the Division of Workforce Services and it will be utilized to launch a Peer Recovery Management (PRM) program with a projected start date of January 15th, 2015.

The PRM program will provide non-clinical peer recovery support that will provide recovery and family management planning and support for persons with substance use disorders (SUDs) who have initiated the recovery process and are transitioning out of community or corrections based treatment services.

The PRM program will utilize Peer Recovery Coaches (PRC) to assist participants in development and implementation of a self-directed Recovery Management Plan (RMP) that targets specific goals and barriers in eight life domains:  reduce barriers impacting addiction recovery, improve family and social supports, enhance job preparation, engagement, and skill development, connect to employment resources, and develop/enhance life, communication, financial responsibility and recovery skills.

For family members, the PRM program will utilize the Community Reinforcement Approach and Family Training (CRAFT) model. Participants must attend 1-2 in-person monthly meetings w/ a PRC over 6 month period, agree to develop a RMP, and participate in addressing goals/barriers to recovery.  Participants and family members must attend 2-4 recovery support/life skills classes facilitated by USARA, FCCBH or by other agencies.

Participant Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a Utah resident with a history of drug and/or alcohol addiction
  • Must be living at or below 200% of Federal Poverty Level
  • Must have a dependent child under age 18 living in the home
  • Must be willing to commit to six months of participation in the PRM program
  • Must be able to provide proof of active participation in personal recovery by; providing verification of treatment and/or counseling engagement within past 12 months and demonstrate active attendance at mutual recovery support groups.
